Project Update: A Contractor Information and Outreach Meeting was held on August 9, 2023. The meeting focused on the Dredged Material Management Facility background, key components, supplier diversity and workforce development and the bid timeline. The project is anticipated to bid in the 4th quarter of 2023, Listen to the recording here.
Over the last few months, there have been some updates on the design and MMSD has submitted permit applications to the DNR. As we move forward we will be receiving permit comments and continuing to move that design forward. Watch the video to learn more and provide any comments or questions here.
Most of the contaminated sediment from Milwaukee’s rivers is planned to be placed in the proposed DMMF. A DMMF is an area specifically designed and engineered for the containment of dredged material and control of potential releases of contaminants to the environment.
